Nothing Goes Unpunished (or Unrewarded)!

Nothing goes unpunished and nothing goes unrewarded. It’s very easy to get caught up into worrying about what others think of us or gaining others’ approval. But what do we think of ourselves? We are our own harshest critics. We cannot run or hide from our own self-judgment. We will judge ourselves critically if we don’t try, when we quit, or do something ill-spirited and we will judge ourselves highly when we’ve given our best effort and attitude. These nonstop critiques of ourselves perpetuate our well-being and the behaviors that follow. For example, when you know you should exercise or eat healthy but you don't get off the couch and grab the junk food you must live with the voice in your head regarding those choices. Likewise, when you get up and walk out the door for a walk or jog you immediately benefit from the tone of that voice. Give it a try! Put in a good effort and attitude and enjoy the self-praise and results that follow!
