How Do You Perceive Stress?

How do you perceive stress? Do you fear it or view it as a chance to grow? Its easy to shy away from anxiety, pressure, and stress to avoid being uncomfortable. However, we must remember that when exercising our muscles and cardiovascular system we are in fact making them feel uncomfortable by applying stress. This is required for strength and growth. Without the application of stress to these physical systems they weaken and atrophy. The same is true with the mind. Without exposure to stress the mind will weaken. With healthy doses of stress we have the opportunity to grow mentally and emotionally. Naturally, too much stress can be harmful, but changing one’s perspective of stress from ‘fear' to 'an opportunity for growth’ will assist in maintaining the proper balance. Embrace the opportunity to strengthen mentally and emotionally.
